california hard money lendersIn California, the real estate market has always been an opportunity waiting to happen. The key is having the knowledge, financial resource, and tenacity to capitalize on those opportunities. Luckily, from the novice just stepping into this market to the expert real estate investor, many seminars and classes exist to build even more relevant knowledge that increases success in the real estate market.

First when researching education in this market, answering the questions below will narrow the need to a desired outcome:

  • What are you hoping to achieve at the seminar/class?

  • Do you have both time and finances to invest in this market?

  • Which part of the market are you focused? Wholesale, REO, short-sell, rehabbing, etc.

  • How will you measure the success of the information gathered at the seminar?

After answering these questions, the next step is finding the seminar or class that best suits your needs. Below are some options to consider.

One option held in San Diego offers a wide range of seminars built to help investors focus on their area of expertise or desired area of learning. Be prepared to spend a few days at these seminars because the amount of information presented is extensive. They offer “boot camps” on wholesale, rehabbing, and REO/short-sell strategies. Granted, as with most real estate seminars, the information is broken into different prices based upon desired information.

Another more affordable option can be found at a local community college. These colleges design classes and programs to help real estate professionals succeed. Even if the investor is not interested in pursuing a degree or real estate certification, the programs still contain valuable classes that help promote a better understanding of the real estate market. For example, the community colleges offer classes on property management, real estate principles, and legal aspects of real estate to name a few.

The University of San Diego also offers a real estate certification program with a wide-range of classes designed to increase understanding of the real estate market. Their program offers online training in some circumstances for the business entrepreneur that travels or cannot commit to a schedule. This program offers courses on real estate investing, property management, and asset management. Courses begin monthly with a 4-week schedule to complete each class.

Despite an investor’s current level of experience, many classes and seminars exist to help investors learn more about the real estate market. The key is finding the program that works best with your finances, schedule, and desired outcome. If you’d like to learn more, please contact us.
